$27.99
Acacia baileyana ‘Purpurea’ (Cootamundra Wattle)
Forms a handsome, wide spreading tree with a tendency to be pendulous. Unique, fern-like foliage has a gorgeous purple shade in new growth, which ultimately fades out to a silvery green. Wonderful winter colour, with masses of small, bright yellow, ‘puffball’ flowers appear in July/August. Fast growing. Grows approximately 5m high x 4m wide in 10 years.
Full sun is best to encourage vibrant foliage colour, but will grow in part shade. Grows in all well draining soils, including those that are poor. Once established, Acacia is hardy to drought, winds and light frosts. Suitable for coastal conditions.
