Dianella nigra (Turutu)

NZ native, clump-forming, flax-like plant with green foliage. Summer brings long stalks with tiny, white flowers, followed by clusters of deep blue-purple berries. Grows approximately 50 x 50cm. To plant in mass effect, plant about 40cm apart.

Prefers a moist, shady position but is tolerant of sunny and dry conditions. Very tough and hardy. Tolerant of light frosts and wind.
