Red buds open to pink blooms with darker edges and prominent wine-red freckling. Flowers in November. Very robust shrub with small, dark green leaves covered in silvery hairs. Grows approximately 1.8m.

A sunny position with part shade is ideal. Plant in well drained, moist, acidic soil. Keep well watered through hot, dry periods. Mulching is beneficial. Fertilise with acid food spring through autumn.
