Dense-growing, evergreen tree with a neat, upright canopy of tough, dark green foliage. Produces clusters upon clusters of contrasting, deep, vibrant red, bristly flowers through summer. Very attractive to native, nectar-feeding birds. Grows approximately 5m high x 3m wide in 10 years.

Full sun to part shade. Very tough and hardy. Tolerant of all soil types including both wet and dry conditions. Frost hardy and suitable for coastal conditions.
