Liquidambar styraciflua ‘Worplesdon’ (American Sweetgum)

Upright, pyramidal habit with distinctive, finely cut and lobed leaves. The outer branches droop gracefully and in autumn the ‘wow’ factor really kicks in, with the leaves showing shades of orange, apricot and purple. Make sure this specimen tree has plenty of room to mature. Grows approximately 6m high x 4m wide in 10 years.

Performs best with full sun in moist, well drained soils. In dry soil, produces a taproot that helps reinforce it against wind, but in wetter soil, only grows superficial roots and cannot tolerate much wind.
