Spectacular panicles of magenta buds unfold into sweetly-scented, pink, single blooms. Deciduous, dark green, heart-shaped foliage. It has been recognised by the Royal Horticultural Society with an Award of Merit. An earlier, flowering variety – mid to late spring. Grows approximately 3 x 3m in 10 years. Makes excellent cut flowers and attracts butterflies and beneficial insects.
Blooms best with a full sun position. Requires, rich, moist, well drained soil. Water during dry spells. Mulching is beneficial. Fertilise lightly in late winter.
