Acer palmatum ‘Shiraz’ (Japanese Maple)

A small, upright tree that has the brightest, variegated leaves. In spring the leaves have bright, reddish-pink edges and freckled, green middles that deepen as summer progresses. Grows approximately 2.5m tall. Prune for effect and to maintain topiary shape in winter.

Suitable for a full sun to part shade position with protection from blistering afternoon sun. Perfect in sheltered spots, protect from hot, dry and coastal wind. Plant in fertile, moist, well drained soil.
