The leaves are a distinctive blue-green. Being an evergreen variety, Cardinal Crunch produces year round. Only the stems are edible. It has a higher disease resistance that most other varieties.

Grow in a sunny position in well drained, raised beds. Enriching soil with compost will keep crowns healthy and producing for years. Keep soil moist but not wet.
