Puka, Pukanini – Meryta sinclairii

A striking, native, evergreen tree with a tropical appearance, having large, paddle-shaped leaves of glossy light-green. Valued for large bold dramatic foliage and tropical effects. Excellent for planting in pots and containers. Grows approximately 4-6m high x 3m wide in 10 years.

Prefers a sunny position which is frost-free. Plant in deeply worked organically enriched moisture retentive soil. Tolerates coastal exposure but protect from wind and frost when young.
