Pittosporum tenuifolium (Kohuhu, Black Matipo)

Deep green, slightly crinkled foliage. A fast growing, bushy shrub great for hedging. Slender, erect, narrow, pyramidal form. Purple spring flowers, later turning black, scent the air with their sweet fragrance. Ideal as a specimen or screen plant. Easily clipped to shape. Grows approximately 3m high x 2m wide. Plant one per metre for hedging.

Quick and easy to grow in sun or shade. Prefers well drained soils. Hardy and tolerant of drought and wind.
